Energy and audio-visual heritage: Sources, research, and visual culture

We are pleased to announce the 10th Conference of the European Oil & Gas Archives Network (EOGAN), the network of energy archives and researchers, which
will be generously hosted in the new headquarters of the ENI Archives in Castel Gandolfo,
Rome, Italy.

The annual EOGAN conference is a meeting place for people to share ideas and develop valuable international links across the energy research and archives sectors.


The theme for the 2019 Conference is ‘Energy and audiovisual heritage: sources, research, and visual culture’, and will explore the following broad topics:


âž” Accessibility of audiovisual sources in archival collections
âž” What is AUDIOVISUAL (advertisements, films, photographs, etc.)
âž” Communication strategies and sources of memory
âž” Usage, reusage, and preservation of audiovisual sources
âž” GDPR for archives: how to approach it and its long-term implications
âž” Using audiovisual sources for historical research: oral history, visual history, and?
âž” Assembling, presenting and preserving audiovisual sources in museums and
exhibitions
âž” Using audiovisual sources in art works·
